Saying Goodbye to 2009!

Ellen Kemper is the QUEEN of punches!
Here is her version of Father Time!

Here we are again, time to make New Year's Resolutions.....well, I know I have great intentions!
One resolution I had been thinking about is about to happen....With my good friend helping me! (Gotta love Yvonne!)  Begining January 12th and continuing the 2nd Tuesday of each month, we are starting a paper-crafting club!  "PAPER PALS" presents "The Paper Playground" where papercrafting comes alive!
We will have monthly door-prizes, themed swaps, display boards, birthday clubhouse and of course snacks! YUMMY!  Over the next year, we will be learning more about rubber stamping, fun folds, punch art, die cuts and oodles of techniques!

I hope you all make a resolution or two and stick to it!  I know that is takes some work, but give it a try!
Whatever you decide about New Year resolutions I hope you will come visit The Minky Moose Club on a regular basis this next year, bring your fun-loving heart and leave me comments. I Love Comments! Tell me what you like or not like.  Tell me what else you would like to see when you visit!  Just take a moment and leave a note!

Santa has TWO new Reindeer!

During Heidi's workshop today, we played a game!  Two teams of three had 4 minutes to make reindeer antlers using no more than 7 balloons and a pair of pantyhose!  When the first teams antlers were completed the team captains had to wear the antlers and sing Jingle Bells!.....

Katie & Patty are racing the clock to get the balloons blown up for their team captain!
and the TWO new Reindeer are.....

Savanna! (aka: Inflate) and.......

Mom, Heidi! (aka: Deflate)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I wish I could take credit for is cute pilgrim. But the actual punched pilgrim (Yes, I did say PUNCHED pilgrim—he is made out of all SU! punches!) himself was designed by Ellen Kemper!

Wanna know how it’s done?

Feet: Butterfly punch cut in half
Buckles for hat and shoes: Slit punch first, then Word Window cut in half and edges rounded
Ankle/Calves: Word Window
Legs: Small Oval
Belly: 1 3/4 Circle punch
Collar: Half a tag punch with cut triangle slit
Arms: Small oval first with Wide Oval punched over to make oval donut :o)
Head: Ornament punch
Ears and Nose: 1/2" Circle punch
Eyes: 1/4" Circle punch
Hat: Tag punch trimmed
Hat brim: Word Window punch extended in length (if you want) by feeding cardstock threw the back opening of punch
Hair: Just the Ornament punch again — cut on the edge and slit up randomly to make the hair strands.
Cuffs: were just freehand cut squares.

Hope you all enjoy your day!

Technique Tuesday....Faux Metal

Directions:
1) Cut card stock to desired size and stamp a VersaMark pad over the entire piece. Sprinkle Gold or Silver Stampin' Emboss powder over card stock piece.

2) Heat powder using heat tool. Sprinkle on additional powder while the image is still hot, and reheat. Repeat at least three times.

3) To create image, ink your stamp with VersaMark ink (to avoid sticking) and press into warm layers of embossing powder.

Tip:Have your inked stamp ready to use immediately after the last time you heat the powder. If you wait too long, the embossing will harden to the point that you won't be able to create an impression with your stamp (if this does happen, simply reheat the card stock piece.)

Top Note Stencil!

Here is another fabulous idea from Andrea! Here she used the Top Note as a stencil (using a sponge dauber with Not Quite Navy Classic Ink) and then using Shimmer Paint stamped the trees from Lovely As A Tree and finally added the greeting in Night of Navy! This is another one of those 10 minute cards!
Get started on those holiday cards now and you will have them done in plenty of time for the holidays!
