I think they spiked my water!
Here is Tracy, myself and Michael; getting down with our bad selves during General Session!

This was closing day!  We had to say good bye to all our friends until next Convention.
See you all in 2011!

Some More Convention Fun!

Another Winner!
Michael thought it was hippie week not hippie night. Ha Ha
For those of you that know Michael, this is his everyday favorite dress.
Tye-Dye never goes out of style! Right?

I told you that I found inspiration in this swap.....
And here's the proof!
A nice liking, don't you think?
Here we were actually at Acme Burger.
I ordered a Strawberry Margarita but they did not have any strawberries. I know, right?
So the alternative was a Blueberry Margarita with an added splash of Rum. WOW!
One of those was plenty!  Good thing I was walking to the hotel!
You can see our new friend Ruthie in the picture as well!  She is from Fort Worth Texas and is a HOOT!

Convention 2010...Day Three & another chance to WIN!

ATC's (artist trading cards) are also a hit at Convention!
Though they are smaller, they make great starts to a full card or they make great accents to a scrapbook page!
Today's swap comes from another friend, Liz!
(I bet you all think that I don't stamp!, Ha Ha)
I do and I will be showing you more of my own creations and Michael's as the week goes on!
For now.....I want to show off the work of my friends and customers!
(Afterall, they have a great teacher....I know, funny!)

This is a charmer, don't ya think?
This is the new Elizabeth stamp!  This is such a versatile stamp, great for any ocassion and can have such a fantastic vintage look!  Liz is my vintage girl, she can turn just about any stamp into a vintage look!
She used one of my favorites......Chocolate Chip!  More Mustard is the highlight for the word Cherish which comes from the Baroque Motif set.  A little heat embossing and a rhinestone and you are ready to go!
You could mount this on almost any color cardstock.  Here, Liz used, Rich Razzleberry!

Let the comments begin!  Leave a comment today and earn another entry into our Convention Drawing.  You could be the lucky one who the random selctor chooses on Monday, July 26th to receive a stamp set of your choice valued up to $25.95!

Convention 2010...Day One and Another Chance to win!

"The Eagle"
This is my Colorado Swap.  Each year that I attend Convention, I try to incorporate a card that shows the beauty of Colorado.  I can not take all the credit for this tradition; my first year of Convention, my Colorado card came from my wonderful friend, Yvonne!  She told me I needed to take a swap that signifies where I was from.  Since then, I have made a tradition out of it!
Remember, Wildlife Wilderness?  Loved that set, I think I actually cried when Stampin' Up! retired it! My first year at Convention, Yvonne used that set to create the Colorado Card.  Now that we have the new In Wilderness stamp set, I thought I would revisit that beautiful first card!

What do you think?
I love the saying in this set!

I used three colors (Pretty In Pink, Delightful Daffodil and Pumpkin Pie) and my brayer to make the sun set.  I used Yvonne's old trick to saran sponge in the mountains.  (Crumb Cake and Old Olive) I then used my brayer again and Certainly Celery to fill in the meadow.  The final touch to the scenery was to stamp the Large Pine from Lovely As A Tree in the forefront with Garden Green.
Now with the scenery set; I heat Embossed (black) the Eagle on Crumb Cake cardstock. I used my handy dandy Stampin' Write Marker in the Pumpkin Pie to fill my eagle's beak and talons. Using my White Gel Pen (who can live without one of these?) I colored in his head and wing tipped feathers!
A quick bubble cut and an dimension and he found his home perch up in the sunset sky!

Okay!  Time for some more comments!  Remember each day that you leave a comment is one more entry into our Convention Drawing for a  FREE stamp set valued up to $25.95!
Thanks for stopping by & Good Luck!

Convention 2010....Check In Day!

We are off to Convention!
Today is "check-in" day.
Stampin' Up has announced that tonight we will be having a "Hippie" party!
Yes, we are dressing up! Bell Bottoms, Tye-Dye, the whole bit!
So to go along with this ocassion, Michael has created a
"Pyschedelic Frog" swap!
WOW!
The background is the Shaving Cream Technique.  The Frog's tummy is the Baby Wipe Tye-Dye Technique!
He used oval and circle punches to create the toadstool. Scrap pieces of Crumb Cake were used to hand-cut the stems! The frog?....check out our punch art section for details on how to create him!
The new Funky Four stamp set is where the stamped mushrooms come from and the little flower you see in the background comes from the Eastern Bloom set.

Leave a comment today to be entered into our Convention Drawing!
Visit each day during Convention (July 21 - 25); leave a comment on each days post; next Monday, July 26th we will use the random selctor to choose a winner!
The prize?.....Your choice of stamp set valued at $25.95 or less!
Good Luck!

Smooch Spray Tips!

SMOOCH SPRAY TECHNIQUE TIPS

Before each use, shake vigorously until the particles are fully mixed. The sprayer can become clogged if particles get sucked up into the tube.

Spray in the direction of the arrow on the nozzle top. Be VERY careful to check this. I have been just a little off a couple of times and ended up spraying projects laying on my desk instead of the item in my Color Catcher.

For best results, spray six to ten inches from your project. I often spray from even a greater distance - twelve to fifteen inches. For a heavier application of color, spray closer to the project.

I find quick, but firm sprays result in a more "misty" application. If you use hesitant, or partial sprays, you will get a more splotchy appearance - which may be what you are looking for on some projects.

The Smooch Spritz bottles are made of glass. When using this product, place the bottles on a towel or cloth to prevent them from rolling and possibly breaking.

If the ink dries outside of the nozzle, remove the nozzle and submerge it in a household cleaner (such as Windex or 409) for 20 minutes. Rinse, replace the nozzle, shake well, and spray.

We have a great product that will help you use the Smooch Spray - the Color Catcher. Use the Color Catcher to catch color overspray from the Smooch Sprays (or Shimmer Spray made with our Shimmer Paints, etc.) that can splatter work areas. Just place your project inside the Color Catcher and spray--and don't worry anymore about cleanup. Plus it is easy to assemble and disassemble and it folds up compactly!

Christmas in July!

I have been visiting Splitcoast stampers!
This is another card featured this month in "The Great Outdoors" workshops.
This is a non-traditional holiday card.  I love the sunset!
Here I brayed So Saffron, More Mustard and the new
 Cajun Craze!
When I think about stampin outdoor theme's, I always seem to come back to the Lovely As A Tree stamp set.  It's an oldie, but I just can't resist!
A little Dazzling Diamonds on the forefront tree, a touch of a white gel pen on the background trees
 and there you have it!

A little Emboss Resist, anyone?

This is a quick Sneak Peek at one of this month's workshop projects!
The technique:  Emboss Resist!
I love the Brayer and I love Heat Embossing; so this technique is one that makes me smile!
I used the Inspired By Nature stamp set (who doesn't love this one?)
I also used the Priceless Swirls (another favorite) for the under lay.
Simply stamp a random pattern on Whisper White card stock. Then with Versa Mark ink stamp your bold image stamp.  Heat Emboss the Versa Mark image with CLEAR embossing powder. Lastly, using a darker color Classic Ink and your Brayer; cover it all up, using a kleenex, wipe any excess ink off the embossed image!  And WOW!

Thank You's....

My friend, Carolyn needed some quick Thank You's for some great volunteer's and hard workers who helped organize and run Vacation Bible School!
Here we are making Mini Milk Cartons!
Sealed with ribbon and a quick tag!

For the Ladies!
The Only Ovals Thank You with the butterfly was used and the Milk Carton itself was stamped with the Hello Again stamp set!

For the Gentleman!
We used the Mini Library clips for the older gents and kept with ribbon (the new espresso) on the young generation!  These were stamped with the Extreme Elements stamp set!
